Please contact us if you are interested in joining our active and growing program of seminars and activities. The new programs begin January 30th and contain many interesting events. For $100 for the year (Fall & Spring) or $55 per term, members may attend as many classes as they choose.
MESSAGE FROM THE CO-CHAIRS
We have some good news and some bad news. First, the good news is that ALP membership is growing and registrations for many of the classes are increasing. This brings us to the bad news, as some of you have mentioned already, sometimes it is difficult to finding a parking space. To counteract that situation, it would be very helpful if you can carpool with others from your neighborhood or town. During the semester, we will try to announce ahead of time when we have classes coming up that are heavily subscribed. As you can understand, it is impossible for us to set up carpools; therefore, we will depend on you to arrange this among yourselves. Thank you for your cooperation.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Date and time: SINGLE SESSION WITH STATE TREASURER DENISE NAPIER
State Treasurer Denise Napier, Connecticut’s chief investment officer, or her deputy, Jonathan Harris, will speak about the effect of the current global uncertainties in the markets on Connecticut investments and the financial future of the state.
The date has been set for April 19, at 1PM
MEMORIAL GIFTS
When an obituary suggests a gift to charity in lieu of flowers, why not designate ALP as the charity? Simply send a check in any amount to ALP, and address it to Adult Learning Program, 85 Lawler Road, West Hartford, CT 06117. Your gift will be acknowledged.
ATTENTION: SNOW BIRDS!
If you know you will miss some ALP courses during your warm-climate winter sojourns, don't forget that we'll still have a number of courses that will start in April and May. Don't hesitate to register for the Spring semester, so that you can enjoy several exciting lectures and courses in April and May when you return from the sunny southland.
SNOW POLICY:
We always hope winter snow storms will take place on days other than those on which our seminars are held! However, if in spite of our hopes, there is a serious storm, check the school closing announcements on television or call (860)695-SNOW/(860)695-7669. If Hartford Schools are closed, our courses will be cancelled on that day. If Hartford Schools have a delayed opening, we meet at our usual time. You may have to be late, but do the best you can.
